First Look: 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited
Regular readers of this blog might recall that a few years ago — four of them, to be exact — I rented a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee to cross the wintry wilds of Wyoming to see family in Utah. Despite some adverse conditions, the Jeep held up well, and succeeded in delivering myself and my three sons to our family Christmas festivities.
I was impressed by the handling and stability of the fourth generation (WK2) Grand Cherokee chassis, and my kids fell in love with quiet and spacious interior. The then-new Pentastar V6 was smooth and powerful, although it was mated to a clunky 5-speed automatic transmission. (Car and Driver had complaints about this particular transmission also; read about their woes here.)
Fast forward to December 2015, and I’ve recently taken the plunge and purchased a new 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited for my personal vehicle. I thought it might be a nice nod to nostalgia to recreate the trip with this latest Grand Cherokee and share my experiences as we progress, so check the pages of this blog often. Look for a full review and a lengthier road test in the short- and long-term, respectively.
Hey Jeff,![🙂](https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/15.0.3/svg/1f642.svg)
Hope the Jeep trip goes well. I own a 2008 Jeep Commander with a HEMI, and love it for long trips with the family. Tows a boat REAL nice, too.
Have a great Christmas!
David
Hey David,
Thanks for the comment and kind words! I’m posting an update today shortly on our trip.
What’s your mileage like with the HEMI?
Hope you have a Merry Christmas as well!
– Jeff
Still loving the Grand Cherokee? I love my 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, but curious because I have some friends looking at one now.
