Gumball 3000 Racers Build Driveable ‘Batman: Arkham Knight’ Batmobile
One of the greatest cars in popular fiction — if not the greatest — is the technology and gadget-laden Batmobile, driven by a vengeful (and extremely wealthy) Batman, also known as playboy billionaire Bruce Wayne. The Batmobile has seen dozens of variants over the years, as depicted in comics, graphic novels, television shows, movies, and video games.
Not content to drive run-of-the-mill playthings of the rich — think Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Bentleys, and Bugattis – a Gumball 3000Â team has created a functional, driveable, 1:1 scale model of the Batmobile as depicted in the Batman: Arkham Knight video game, developed by Rocksteady Studios.
While it doesn’t have the functional cannon, tow cable, rocket boost, and most of the other features of the video game Batmobile, it can make its way around a racetrack and seems surprisingly driveable, thanks to being based on a donor Lamborghini Gallardo.
