Is this the 2015 Subaru WRX?
Subaru announced a year or so ago that it planned to give the WRX a unique identity to further separate it from the more mundane base Subaru Impreza models, and the Subaru WRX concept introduced this week at the New York International Auto Show definitely takes a big step in that direction. We’ve loved the WRX ever since it was released here in the states way back in 2001, but sleek exterior design has never been the Impreza’s strong suit. Subaru struck gold with the phenomenal BRZ recently, both in the looks and performance department. We can only hope that the sleek design language shown in this WRX concept largely carries over into the 2015 Subaru WRX production models, which we’ll hopefully see sometime in 2014.
Check out our gallery of Subaru-supplied images of the concept vehicle below, or read the official Subaru WRX Concept news release from the show. Subaru hasn’t released much specific info about the 2014 WRX yet, but we’re eager to see more.
Nice new Subie Wrx!
If the real thing is even close to this concept, I’ll be purchasing one. I really think this is my next car. I loved my 2000 WRX, but since then the design of the car has suffered. Seems the car is finally getting the design it deserves. We can hope, anyway.
Sorry, typo: I meant 2003 WRX.
Very promising look for Subaru. Betting pool to see who gets one first, Jason?
@Tim: Yeah, looks very cool.
