Red Bull Racing and Aston Martin Announce AM-RB 001 Concept
Â
Two of the biggest names in motorsports — Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing — have joined forces to produce an all-new supercar. The new vehicle has been dubbed the AM-RB 001, and will feature a cutting-edge design based on a lightweight carbon fibre structure, and, according to an Aston-Martin news release announcing the vehicle, will be powered by “…a new, mid-mounted, high-revving, naturally aspirated V12 engine with the potency to achieve a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio; 1 bhp per kilo of weight.”
The AM-RB 001 will be constructed in the same facility that Aston Martin used to construct the One-77 supercar, and building the AM-RB 001 is a task that will be jointly undertaken at Aston Martin’s Gaydon facility by Red Bull Advanced Technologies and Q by Aston Martin Advanced. Production volumes will be small, with 25 track-only versions and between 99 and 150 road cars, and first deliveries scheduled to take place in 2018.
