Road Trip: 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Day One
We started our road trip with the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee by topping the 24.6 gallon fuel tank off in Loveland, CO.
I opted for the 3.6 liter, 295-hp, Pentastar V6 over the 5.7 liter HEMI or the 3.0-liter turbodiesel, mainly for budgetary and fuel economy reasons, and haven’t been disappointed so far.
Our trip from Colorado to Utah took us across the windy, wintry wilds of Wyoming, and was largely uneventful during the first half of our trip: The Grand Cherokee was smooth and quiet, and had plenty of room for me, my three sons, and our baggage. I’m almost 6′ 2″, my oldest son is 6′ 3″, and my two youngest boys are closing in on 6′ as well. Despite the size of the occupants, we all had plenty of leg, elbow, and head room.
I’ll post tomorrow about the second leg of our first day on the road, which includes some nasty weather and narrowly avoiding a jack-knifed semi trailer.
