Uber acquires self-driving truck startup Otto
There’s been a lot of news on the autonomous vehicle front lately, including word that Volvo Cars and Uber have joined forces to put up to 100 self-driving Volvo XC90 SUVs on the streets of Pittsburgh, PA by the end of 2016.
Uber had another noteworthy bit of news to share earlier in the week when it announced that it had acquired self-driving truck startup Otto. I’ve blogged a bit about Otto in the past, and news that Uber has gobbled up one of the leading startups in autonomous vehicle technology adds yet more evidence to point out how white-hot the autonomous vehicle market is at the moment.
